Drama Club
Drama Club
BACKGROUND
The Drama Club provides students with a comprehensive introduction to drama, focusing on essential skills like performance techniques, scriptwriting, and blocking. We aim to build a solid foundation in dramatic conventions, from developing characters and crafting dialogue to mastering stage movement and positioning.
Members work together in ensemble pieces, emphasizing the importance of collaboration as they prepare for performances and competitions. Key skills such as voice projection, clear diction, and improvisation are cultivated, helping students become more confident and effective on stage. Additionally, students explore aspects of set design and basic technical elements, gaining a broader understanding of theatre production.
These skills come into play during performances, including the Singapore Youth Festival Arts presentation, where students can showcase their abilities. Through these experiences, they not only grow as performers but also enhance valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving—qualities that will benefit them in various aspects of life.
